Morning,
It’s 2nd January.. just another day in my opinion. The new-ness of new years eve, and peoples’ new years resolutions has well and truly worn off for me. The show must go on, and we just need to keep going.
Your goals and dreams won’t come to you. Not easily.
Sure, you’ve got to align yourself, and try to act and be as the person you want to be.
What would a fit person do? They would go out and walk every day, or several times a week.
See how I aligned myself? I wanted to get fitter, and walking was my first choice.
Now Ive walked for 44 days and have no desire to stop.
The 10,000 steps seem to come easily most days, and I don’t really ever have any resistance to getting up and getting out of bed and stepping outside.
So, whether it’s new years eve, January 1st or March 12th.. just start.. Just get the ball rolling and don’t ever stop.
Make it an easy to do daily task. For me walking is super simple and easy and not too taxing on the brain. But it doesn’t have to be about walking. You might want to stop eating crisps / chips so often, so why not start the ball rolling with a single swap, just once a week.. sure it sounds stupidly simple and insignificant but its instilling a habit within you.
So, change out your Friday night chips/crisps and swap them for rice cakes.. Just top this for 4 weeks or so until it becomes a simple thing to do and part of your normal routine.
Then you can work on creating and improving a second habit.
Over time you will find that you have swapped and improved multiple parts of your life.. for the better.. and you’ve moved forwards in life.
Have an amazing day!
Shaun
